Polish Braised Red Cabbage
* Prep Time: 10 minutes
* Cook Time: 20-25 minutes
* Ingredients:
- 1/2 medium head red cabbage, cored, shredded
- 1 medium white onion, diced
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1/2 cup water
- 2 tbsp apple cider vinegar
- 1/4 cup red wine*
- 2 tbsp brown sugar*
- salt and pepper, to taste
* Recipe:
- In a large pot, heat the olive oil and add the onions, garlic, salt, and pepper. Cook until onions are translucent.
- Add in the cabbage and water. Cook until about half the water is gone.
- Add in the vinegar, red wine, and sugar. Cook until most of the liquid is gone.
